Owned and operated by two pediatric Occupational Therapists with a combined 20 years of experience,
The Independent Play Company offers an inclusive, and therapeutic play space to promote age appropriate development of speech, cognitive, socioemotional, and physical skills, for ALL kiddos, ages birth to five years old. It also serves to provide a community space for families to connect, play and learn.
The Independent Play Company differs from other known play spaces in that it serves to provide structured, developmentally appropriate play in a professionally designed space, while parents are able to form their own social circles and learn how to best assist in their child’s overall growth and development through meaningful play.

Co-Owner, Occupational Therapist
Jackie de Elia
Jackie has specialty experience with medically fragile children ages birth to 5 years old, and is Level C certified in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI).
As a parent of young children and a working professional in Early Intervention, she has first hand experience with lack of resources for families, especially those with special needs.

Paloma Cuevas
Paloma has experience working in a variety of treatment settings with children birth to 21 years old. She has extensive experience with CPSE/CSE meetings and IEP/IFSP development.
She has also coordinated Kindergarten fine motor centers across multiple schools.
